1. What Is Search & Filters?
Search & Filters is the system that lets users find specific prospects and companies across Sopro's databases. It provides powerful filtering capabilities — search by name, job title, company, industry, technology, location, revenue, and more. The filter system is type-safe and extensible, with each filter having its own metadata (label, icon, category).
In Simple Terms
"Search & Filters is like a powerful search engine for B2B data — type what you're looking for, apply filters, and get a refined list of exactly the right people and companies."
2. Why It Matters
| Without Search & Filters | With Search & Filters |
|---|
| Browsing through millions of records manually | Targeted searches return exactly what you need |
| No way to combine criteria (industry + title + location) | Multi-filter combinations narrow results precisely |
| Inconsistent filter labels and categories | Type-safe system with consistent metadata and icons |
| Slow, unstructured lookups | Fast search with autocomplete and paginated results |
3. How It Works — The Big Picture
4. The Filter System
How Filters Are Organized
Every filter in the system has a defined type, label, icon, and category. This ensures consistency across the entire application.
What Each Filter Includes
| Property | Description | Example |
|---|
| Label | Human-readable name shown in the UI | "Company Names" |
| Icon | Visual indicator for the filter | Building icon |
| Category | Grouping for organization | "Company" |
| Description | Help text explaining the filter | "Filter by company name" |
Combining Filters
Filters can be combined to create precise search criteria. For example:
| Filter Combination | Result |
|---|
| Industry: "Technology" + Seniority: "VP" + Country: "UK" | VPs in UK tech companies |
| Company Size: "50-200" + Title: "Marketing Director" | Marketing Directors at small-medium businesses |
| Revenue: "$10M-$50M" + Technology: "Salesforce" | Mid-size companies using Salesforce |
5. Prospect Search
What You Can Search For
| Field | Examples |
|---|
| Name | "John Smith", "Sarah" |
| Job Title | "VP Marketing", "CTO", "Head of Sales" |

| LinkedIn | LinkedIn profile URL |
Search Results Include
For each matching prospect:

| Job Title | Current role |
| Company | Company name and details |
| Location | City, region, country |
| Seniority | Level in organization |
| Verification Status | Whether email has been verified |
| Audience Membership | Which audiences they belong to |
6. Company Search
What You Can Search For

Enhanced Breakdown
Company search results include a breakdown visualization showing:
- How many prospects exist at each company
- How they're distributed across job titles and seniority levels
- Which are already in active audiences or campaigns
7. Autocomplete & Lookups
To make searching easier, the system provides autocomplete suggestions as users type:
Available Autocomplete Fields
| Field | Behaviour |
|---|
| Industry | Type "tech" → shows "Technology", "Tech Services", etc. |
| Job Title | Type "VP" → shows "VP Marketing", "VP Sales", "VP Engineering" |
| Company Name | Type "Micro" → shows "Microsoft", "Microchip Technology" |
| Location | Type "Lon" → shows "London", "Long Beach" |

Autocomplete data comes from Sopro's lookup databases, ensuring suggestions are always relevant and up-to-date.
